The wait is finally over. After months of community speculation, Jagex has officially confirmed that RuneScape: Dragonwilds is bringing its unique brand of survival-crafting and iconic lore to the PlayStation 5. This marks a historic first for the RuneScape series as it makes its console debut.
PlayStation Plus Advantage
If you are a PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium subscriber, there is even better news: the game will be available to play at no additional cost as part of your subscription at launch.
The team is encouraging all interested players to wishlist the game on the PlayStation Store now. Not only does this ensure you get notified the second the game goes live, but it also provides a massive boost to the development team as they finalize the 1.0 build.
Surviving the Continent of Ashenfall
RuneScape: Dragonwilds takes players to the distant, long-forgotten continent of Ashenfall. After a harrowing encounter with a Dragon General, players must survive the elements by gathering resources, crafting gear, and building shelters.
Key features include:
- 13 Distinct Skills: Grind your way to the iconic level 99.
- Multiplayer Survival: Play solo or team up with up to three friends.
- Skill Spells: Use ancient magic to manipulate the environment.
- Iconic Lore: Embark on quests rich with the deep history of the RuneScape universe.
The Early Access Journey
Since its initial Early Access launch in the Spring of 2025, Dragonwilds has grown alongside its community, attracting over a million adventurers. This 1.0 release will signal the conclusion of Kuldra’s Saga, the narrative arc that has defined the Early Access period.
If you are a PC player, you don’t have to wait for the console launch to jump in. The PC version is available now on Steam, allowing you to get a head start on mastering your survival skills before the console release.
While the team has confirmed the game is arriving “later this year,” an exact release date is still being kept under wraps. The developers promise more news will be shared very soon. To ensure you don’t miss the announcement, the team recommends signing up for their official mailing list
