Every year Riot Games puts on an absolute spectacle for their League of Legends Worlds opening ceremony. This year we will see performances from HEARTSTEEL and NewJeans.

Who is HEARTSTEEL?
Riot introduces HEARTSTEEL, a virtual pop group featuring reimagined versions of popular League of Legends champions including Kayn, Ezreal, Sett, Yone, K’Sante, and Aphelios.
The group’s debut single “PARANOIA” will be performed live by BAEKHYUN of EXO, Cal Scruby, Tobi Lou, and ØZI. HEARTSTEEL plan to blend reality and League of Legends fantasy in an action-packed performance.

Who is NewJeans?
NewJeans, the rising K-pop sensation, is set to dazzle the audience at the 2023 League of Legends World Championship with their performance of the anthem “GODS.” This talented quintet, consisting of MINJI, HANNI, DANIELLE, HAERIN, and HYEIN, made their debut in July 2022 under the independent label ADOR, a part of HYBE led by Hee Jin Min.
Their debut album, “New Jeans,” released on August 1, 2022, achieved remarkable success, making them the first K-pop group to reach the million-seller milestone with their very first album. NewJeans quickly captured the hearts of fans worldwide, with their track “Hype Boy” charting on Billboard Global 200 for an impressive 37 consecutive weeks, setting a new record for any K-pop female act. Their global hits “Ditto” and “OMG” secured spots on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at 74 and 82 respectively, within just six months of their debut.
