The Game Awards have announced their five nominees for the Best Esports Event in their 2023 event.
The Game Awards is the biggest night in gaming, where the best games of the year are honored and new games are revealed. It’s a must-watch for any fan of video games, happening on December 7 this year.

2023 League of Legends World Championship
The 2023 League of Legends World Championship was the most prestigious event in the League of Legends esports calendar. It is currently taking place and features the top teams from around the world competing for a share of the $2.2 million prize pool.
After weeks of intense competition, we are down to T1 vs. Weibo Gaming in the grand finals. Will it be T1’s third World Championship title, or will Weibo Gaming pull off the upset?
BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023
The BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 was the biggest Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament of the year. It featured the top 16 teams from around the world competing for a share of the $1 million prize pool.
Team Vitality won the tournament, defeating GamerLegion in the grand finals. This was Team Vitality’s first Major title, and it came after a long and challenging season.
EVO 2023
EVO is the largest fighting game tournament in the world. It features players competing in a variety of different fighting games, including Guilty Gear Strive, Street Fighter V, and Tekken 7.
The prize pool for EVO 2023 varied depending on the game, but were between $25k and $70k for each of the major games. The winners of the major games included:

- Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3: Jibrill
- Dragon Ball FighterZ: HIKARI

The International Dota 2 Championships 2023
The International is the biggest Dota 2 tournament of the year. It features the top 20 teams from around the world competing for a share of the $3 million prize pool.
In October we saw Team Spirit come out on top, matching their 2021 performance. It was after a hard-fought grand finals against Gaimin Gladiators.
VALORANT Champions 2023
The VALORANT Champions is the biggest VALORANT tournament of the year. It features the top 16 teams from around the world competing for a share of the $2.25 million prize pool.
The favourites heading in to the event were the dominant Fnatic, but they missed out on the grand final. Ultimately the event came down to Evil Genuises vs. Paper Rex. With the Americans coming out on top.
