The Game Awards have announced their five nominees for the Best Esports Team in their 2025 event.

The Game Awards is the biggest night in gaming, where the best games of the year are honored and new games are revealed. It’s a must-watch for any fan of video games, happening on December 7 this year.

Gen.G (League of Legends)

Gen.G is a prominent South Korean esports organisation with a strong presence in the game League of Legends. Competing in the top-tier LCK (League of Legends Champions Korea), they are built on a legacy of winning and high-level performance. The organisation boasts numerous championship victories and has cultivated a reputation for consistency at international events.

In 2025 Gen.G further reinforced their dominance. They captured the 2025 LCK title by defeating Hanwha Life Esports 3-1 in the finals. Their strong showing throughout the season saw them emerge as season-champion in a newly structured LCK calendar, making 2025 a year where Gen.G set the standard in their region.

NRG (Valorant)

NRG is an American esports organisation with divisions across multiple games, including Valorant. Their Valorant team competes in the North American region and has maintained a consistent presence in major tournaments. The roster features talent such as Brock “brawk” Somerhalder and others who have contributed to the team’s competitive standing.

In 2025, NRG continued to build on that foundation. While details of every result are varied, their profile shows key tournament placements and viewership milestones, reinforcing that they remain among North America’s leading Valorant squads. Team Liquid PH (Mobile Legends: Bang Bang)

Team Liquid PH (TLPH) is the Philippine branch of the global Team Liquid organisation, competing in the mobile MOBA Mobile Legends: Bang Bang in the MPL Philippines league. The organisation has already collected major domestic titles and has built a reputation as a powerhouse in Southeast Asia.

In 2025, Team Liquid PH achieved a major milestone: they won MPL Philippines Season 16, sweeping the grand finals 4-0 against Aurora Gaming, thereby qualifying for the M7 World Championship. Their strong performance highlights the team’s rise and their readiness to contend on the world stage.

Team Falcons (Dota 2)

Team Falcons is a Saudi‐Arabian esports organisation that entered the competitive Dota 2 scene in late 2023 and rapidly assembled a roster featuring high-profile international players. Their ambition and investment in the Dota 2 scene quickly put them into contention among the world’s top squads.

The year 2025 was truly landmark for Team Falcons — they claimed the The International 2025 (TI 14) championship by defeating Xtreme Gaming 3-2 in the Grand Finals. This major victory elevated them to the top of the Dota 2 hierarchy and marked one of the most impressive championship breakthroughs of the year.

Team Vitality (Counter-Strike 2)

Team Vitality is a major European esports organisation active in numerous titles, including Counter‑Strike 2 (CS2). They are widely regarded as one of the most successful teams in CS history with multiple S-tier and Major victories. Their CS2 roster, featuring stars such as Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut and Robin “ropz” Kool, has been central to their success.

In 2025, Team Vitality dominated like few others: they captured multiple major titles including IEM Katowice 2025, ESL Pro League Season 21, BLAST Open Lisbon 2025 and IEM Dallas 2025, while achieving a multi-tournament win streak and securing their second consecutive ESL Pro League crown.
