PAX Aus 2024 is set to be bigger than ever, with an incredible exhibitor line-up and exciting new events. Taking place from October 11-13 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, this year’s event brings even more developers, publishers, and the largest tabletop area in PAX Aus history. Major Highlights at PAX Aus 2024
- Bethesda Softworks ANZ will transport fans into the worlds of The Elder Scrolls and Fallout, with an immersive Elder Scrolls Online Tavern and a Fallout 76 Skyline Valley C.A.M.P.site Handheld Lounge.
- Ubisoft will showcase a playable demo of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, with Game Director Charles Benoit appearing for a special presentation. Plus, esports fans can enjoy a Rainbow 6 Siege showcase at the PAX Arena.
- Blizzard Entertainment will celebrate the launch of Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred with custom artwork and a life-sized glaive, along with daily giveaways for lucky fans.
- SEGA will present highly anticipated titles like Sonic X Shadow Generations, Metaphor: ReFantazio, and Two Point Museum, along with live streams and a chance to meet movie Sonic in person.
- FINAL FANTASY™ XIV Online invites players to battle the fearsome Valigarmanda, take photos in special booths, and participate in a panel featuring Senior Story Designer Natsuko Ishikawa and Quest Designer Saki Takayanagi.
Exclusive Events: From PAX Weddings to Gameball Royale
In a first for PAX Aus, Devolver and Massive Monster will host two weddings inside a life-sized replica of the Cult of the Lamb Temple on Sunday, October 13th. For those not ready to tie the knot, the weekend will still be full of “sinful activations” and interactive events.
Meanwhile, the Red Bull Gameball Royale promises to be a highlight, with four teams of Australian creators—led by Lachlan, Iamfallfromgrace, Muselk, and Loserfruit—competing in an interactive dodgeball tournament powered by an impressive LED court.
Hardware and Gear Galore
Fans of gaming hardware can expect cutting-edge showcases from brands like AFTERSHOCK PC, LG Electronics, Cooler Master, and Secretlab. Attendees can test out the latest gear, from gaming PCs to peripherals, and dive into interactive demos.
Indie Games, Tabletop, and More
This year’s PAX will feature New Zealand’s Centre of Digital Excellence, showcasing 18 new indie games. Additionally, the Tabletop area is expanding with the biggest display yet, including Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game. Expect learn-to-play sessions, artist signings from Matt Chapman, and photo ops in the Great Illuminary.
The showfloor will also feature playable titles from PlaySide Studios, including KILL KNIGHT and Thrive: Heavy Lies the Crown, along with an exclusive live playthrough of MOUSE: PI for Hire by Fumi Games.
The Complete PAX Experience
With three-day badges and Saturday badges already sold out, PAX Aus 2024 is shaping up to be the biggest PAX event yet. Attendees will experience the PC Freeplay area powered by Intel, the Handheld Lounge, Console Freeplay and Tournament areas, Cosplay Central, and the Speedrunning Stage. Not to mention the iconic Omegathon, which returns to cap off the weekend.
