gamescom 2024 Set for Record-Breaking Success

gamescom 2024 is on track for a spectacular event, boasting impressive numbers with just five weeks to go! This year’s event sees a 10% increase in exhibitors, with representatives from over 60 countries, utilizing a massive 230,000 square meters of exhibition space.

The level of international participation has also surged, with 43 country pavilions from 33 countries, up from 33 pavilions from 26 countries in 2023. New additions like the social stage and cards & boards areas are set to enhance the experience for all attendees.

Growing International Presence

Tim Endres, Director of gamescom says,

“Following the strong growth of last year, we expect to set new records with gamescom, featuring even more exhibitors and greater international participation. Fans, industry professionals, and partners from around the world can experience an even more diverse gamescom this year with additions like the new social stage, cards & boards, and artists areas.”

Felix Falk, Managing Director of game – The German Games Industry Association and co-organizer of gamescom, added.

“gamescom 2024 will once again be the ultimate gaming festival. One of the key highlights is the growing international character of Gamescom, which is also attributable to the establishment of satellite events of Gamescom Asia and gamescom Latam. With gamescom present on three continents, the fascinating world of gaming is now more accessible than ever.”

Familiar and New Faces

The list of exhibitors continues to grow, featuring both familiar and new names. Many companies have announced their participation on social media, including:

  • 2K, 9gag, Aerosoft, Amazon Games, AMD, Astragon, Bandai Namco, Bethesda, Bilibili, Blizzard, Capcom, Electronic Arts, ESL FACEIT Group, Focus Entertainment, GIANTS Software, Hoyoverse, Konami, Krafton, Lego, Level Infinite, Meta Quest, NetEase Games, Nexon, Pearl Abyss, PLAION, Rocket Beans Entertainment, SEGA, SK Gaming, Sony Deutschland, Square Enix, Team 17, The Pokémon Company, THQ Nordic, TikTok, Ubisoft, Xbox.

Many more exhibitors are expected to join in the weeks to come.

New Areas at the Gaming Festival

In addition to the increased number of exhibitors, gamescom’s growth includes new areas catering to various communities. For the first time, the gamescom Congress will be held in the newly opened Confex, offering participants more space and opportunities for exchange.

The new cards & boards area will cater to the growing number of board game and trading card enthusiasts, featuring major names like ADC Blackfire Entertainment, Hasbro Deutschland, Konami, Pegasus Spiele, Ravensburger Verlag, and Ulisses Spiele.

The new social stage in Hall 11.3 will be dedicated to content, offering visitors a curated program of performances, local content creators, and musical acts.

An International Meeting Point

The global significance of gamescom is underscored by the growing number of international exhibitors. This year, there will be 43 country pavilions from 33 countries, highlighting the event’s increasing international reach and a 10% increase in exhibitor numbers from over 60 countries compared to the previous reporting date.

gamescom Opening Night Live Ticket Shop Now Live

As tradition holds, gamescom Opening Night Live will kick off the event in Cologne on August 20, with thousands of attendees on-site and millions of fans online eagerly awaiting numerous premieres. Hosted by Geoff Keighley, with renowned e-sports host Eefje “sjokz” Depoortere as co-host, this event is set to be a major highlight.
