From August 25th to 31st, ReachOut Australia is hosting ReachOut, Level Up, a week-long streaming event on Twitch to raise funds and awareness for youth mental health programs.
Why ReachOut, Level Up?
- 40% of young Australians face mental health challenges, with suicide as the leading cause of death for 14-25 year olds.
- ReachOut Australia provides free, online, and anonymous mental health resources for young people.
- ReachOut, Level Up aims to connect with young people where they are – online gaming communities.
Streamers Unite to Make a Difference
The event features a diverse lineup of Australian streamers. Anyone can get involved by signing up and streaming – games, arts and crafts, or just chatting. There are even rewards for participation!
Tracey Campbell, ReachOut Marketing & Fundraising Director talks about the event:
“We recognise that after friends and family, the internet is often the first place young people turn to for support when experiencing mental health difficulties. We know that a large portion of young people are both online and gaming, so we are excited to launch this fundraiser to build awareness of
ReachOut’s services and connect with these young gamers where they are. By partnering with Twitch streamers, we aim to create awareness among their audiences that there is a safe space available if they’re going through tough times or looking for that extra support”.
How to Get Involved
- Stream for ReachOut: Sign up, pick your activity (gaming, crafting, chatting!), and stream during the event.
- Donate: Support the cause directly through the ReachOut, Level Up donation page.
- Spread the Word: Share the event with your friends and followers.
