What gear did the pros use at IEM Melbourne 2025?

Published on

Now that IEM Melbourne 2025 has wrapped up, we took a look at the gear behind the players. Specifically, what brands of peripherals are today’s CS2 pros trusting when every headshot counts?

To find out, we headed over to prosettings.net and filtered by the CS2 teams that made it into the playoffs; Vitality, Falcons, MOUZ, MongolZ, GamerLegion, and Liquid. Here’s what we found.

Mice

It was a neck-and-neck race between the big two: Razer and Logitech were tied, each taking a 27.8% share of the playoff players’ choices. This is not surprising as Razer and Logitech have each been staples in the esports gear scene for well over a decade, trusted by pros since the early days of competitive gaming.

Not far behind were VAXEE and ZOWIE, each securing 16.7% of the field.

The mouse is arguably the most personal piece of gear in a CS2 pro’s setup. When your aim is your paycheck, even a few grams of extra weight or a slightly different sensor curve can mean the difference between winning a duel or watching your teammates try to clutch 1v3.

Keyboards

When it comes to keyboards, Razer dominates the field, with exactly 33.3% of players in the IEM Melbourne playoffs using their models. In second place is Wooting, a smaller Dutch company that’s been making serious waves in the esports scene with their analog input tech.

ASUS and Logitech are tied for third place, with 13.9% share each.

For CS2 players, the keyboard is more than just movement. It’s consistency, responsiveness, and durability. Whether it’s executing jump-throws or chaining utility lineups, pros need gear that never hesitates under pressure — and clearly, Razer and Wooting are delivering that.

CS2 Gear in the Bigger Picture

The Relationship Between Brands and Players

With so many players opting for the same models and brands, it raises the question: how do these partnerships between pros and peripheral companies actually work?

We reached out to Jeffrey Chau, the Director of Global Esports at Razer, who gave us insight into the process:

“Razer isn’t a game company—we’re a gamer company. We stay connected to and support pro players at the highest level. That trust gives us the ability to co-develop and test products by bringing pro players directly into the process—even testing prototypes at international LAN tournaments where everything is on the line. The result? Gear that’s built to help pro players reach their peak performance and battle-tested in real esports tournament environments.”

This kind of direct feedback loop between pro players and designers helps companies like Razer stay at the forefront of performance gear — and explains why their products show up again and again in pro inventories.
