The dream of running the ultimate local game store has officially resonated with millions. During the SEA Games Showcase 2026, Malaysia-based developer O.P. Neon Games announced that their smash-hit simulation game, TCG Card Shop Simulator, has officially surpassed 3.5 million units sold across Steam and Xbox Series X|S.
Created by solo developer Ding Shen Sia, the game has become a cultural phenomenon, tapping into the nostalgic joy of collecting, trading, and “cracking packs.”
1.0 Update: The Playable Tetramon TCG
Perhaps the most highly requested feature since the game’s Early Access launch is finally arriving. O.P. Neon Games confirmed that the 1.0 release will include a fully functional, playable Tetramon Trading Card Game.
Players will no longer just be selling these cards to customers—they will be able to collect them, build their own decks, and play matches directly within their shops. This update is set to include a brand-new set of Tetramon cards, further expanding the depth of the in-game collection.
Ding Shen Sia, solo developer at O.P. Neon Games said:
“When I set out to build TCG Card Shop Simulator, I never imagined we’d reach 3.5 million players. Every sale is a shared memory of opening that first rare card. This community is incredible and I can’t wait to share what I have planned next,”
Expanding to PlayStation and Nintendo
The store management experience is going portable. While already available on PC and Xbox (via Game Pass), the team confirmed that PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 1, and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 versions are currently in full production.
Whether you prefer the high-fidelity experience of a 4K big screen or the convenience of “cracking packs on your morning commute,” the developers aim to make the TCG empire portable for all fans. Details regarding specific release dates and console-exclusive features are expected to be shared in the coming months.

The Journey So Far
Since its initial Early Access release on September 15, 2024, TCG Card Shop Simulator has become a standout title for indie gaming. The game offers a comprehensive simulation experience that includes:
- Retail Management: Stocking shelves, setting prices, and hiring staff.
- The Collector’s Dream: The ability to crack your own booster packs to find rare cards.
- Community Building: Hosting in-store events and expanding your small shop into a thriving local business.
With the 1.0 release and the console ports on the horizon, the momentum for this solo-developed project shows no signs of slowing down.
