Square Enix and indie developer poncle have teamed up to deliver a surprise crossover between SaGa Emerald Beyond and the gothic bullet hell hit Vampire Survivors. The free update, titled “Emerald Diorama”, is out now across all platforms to celebrate the upcoming first anniversary of SaGa Emerald Beyond.
New Playable Characters and Party Combos
The update brings 12+ new characters from SaGa Emerald Beyond, each with unique abilities and weapons.
Fans of the SaGa series will instantly recognize faces like Ameya, the magical schoolgirl, and Diva No. 5, the mech songstress. The roster also includes duos and teams, such as rookie cops Bonnie and Formina, or Tsunanori Mido and his summonable puppets.
Some characters can join forces mid-run, creating party dynamics rarely seen in Vampire Survivors.
A Brand-New Stage with Hidden Secrets
“Emerald Diorama” also introduces a new main stage, inspired by SaGa Emerald Beyond’s multi-world setting. Expect to face off against supernatural enemies while uncovering secrets tucked between layers of classic SaGa lore.
New Weapons, Music, and Glimmering
No SaGa crossover would be complete without weapons—and this one doesn’t disappoint. Players can now find 16+ new weapons, each with a chance to “Glimmer”, the iconic SaGa mechanic that lets weapons learn powerful new moves mid-run.
The update also adds 9 new music tracks, including exclusive remixes straight from SaGa Emerald Beyond.

Developer Reactions
Akitoshi Kawazu, the legendary SaGa Series General Director, shared his excitement:
“This collaboration was realised thanks to Luca from Poncle being a fan of the SaGa franchise… I feel a new, fresh kind of joy.
To the SaGa fans out there who haven’t experienced Vampire Survivors yet: please seize this opportunity to jump in…”
Masanori Ichikawa, SaGa Franchise Producer, added:
“Thank you so much to Luca and all the creators at Poncle for your love of SaGa Emerald Beyond. I’ll also be diving in and enjoying this collaboration!”
